We spent time last week organizing and inventorying the teacher’s supply closet. A second bulk order of supplies has been placed to fill the gaps we found and we are still working out a more efficient and economical system moving forward to make sure the supply closest remains stocked.

Tech Update: Printers

We have ordered one high-volume printer/copier for each floor of MSC. They are on the way and we hope to have them in the school by week’s end!

As a reminder, the Friends of MSC invites every student artist to submit an original masterpiece that depicts the heart of MSC, and expresses how you, your classmates, and MSC families create community. We’ll feature your submission in our Giving Tuesday messages and on a super special piece of spirit wear, to be revealed later this month.

Please send a high-resolution image to cotreasurer@friendsofmsc.org by midnight on November 16, 2021, and we’ll let you know when your art is slated for the spotlight.

COVID Protocols for Holiday Travel

The DOE does not require families who travel to quarantine or show a negative test before returning to school. Daily health screening is still a requirement. Best practice would be to have every traveler tested before and after traveling. The CDC recommends “unvaccinated travelers should still get tested 1-3 days before domestic travel and again 3-5 days after travel.” Testing is free and easily available and it helps to keep our school open and healthy.

We are still looking for someone to take on the challenge of updating the PS333.org website. If you are interested in giving the site a new look, please let us know!

Togetherhood Winter Registration - Now Open!

As we announced last week, Togetherhood instructors will continue offering after school classes at MSC this winter! You can click here to browse and register. All classes are $35/class, held at MSC, and the term is January 3 - April 14. Togetherhood instructors collect children at 2:40pm and parents pick up from the MSC main entrance at 5:15pm (*or 6pm* as an add-on). Act now, some classes have already sold out and spots are filling up!

Ongoing: Candy Wrapper Recycling

Trick or Trash Spotlight: Manhattan School for Children!!

Have candy wrappers in October/November? You can recycle them! Shakira signed us up for a candy wrapper recycling program, just in case anyone was planning on letting their kids eat some candy. Find out which day your child has Greenhouse Science, and put EMPTY wrappers in a sealed baggie (that can get recycled, too!)

Program is available until mid November.
