The street construction on W 93rd St has been commissioned by Con Edison to replace gas lines. The project will continue for the next couple weeks (no specific end date was given), barring any unforeseen problems.

The “loud work” (jackhammering) in front of MSC should be complete. Next, Con Edison will come in to lay the pipes and, once installed, the construction company will return to backfill and re-pave the street. Most of the backfilling and paving work they anticipate doing on Saturdays rather than during the week.

There is work still to be done on W93rd near Columbus Ave and on Amsterdam Ave, but not directly in front of MSC.

MSC Read-a-Thon

MSC has decided to hold a Read-a-Thon this year!

Read-a-thons get your reader excited about reading and it gives friends and family the opportunity to encourage your child to read even more.

Our Read-a-thon starts Wednesday January 5th 2022.

Before our Read-a-thon starts we will send home instructions on how to activate your reader's personal page. This is where you will be able to view and record their progress.

We've chosen Read-a-thon because it will not take much of your time, gives your child a reason to read and helps in the development of stronger reading skills.

We hope EVERYONE participates.

Please join us for the next virtual IDC meeting on October 14th at 9:30 AM. We’re especially interested in exploring what roles and specific topics of interest people are willing to take on.

Dear Friends of MSC,

We want you to know what this Family Giving push is all about. Here’s the rundown:

WHO?

We’re calling on every family at MSC to participate in fundraising at whatever level you can.

WHAT?

What to give? We have suggested levels for your consideration on the Family Giving page of our site. Leadership gifts get us off to a running start; participation gifts of any size help us cross the finish line.

What do we plan to raise and what for? We’re funding the PA budget! You can review our targets and every line item to which your funds contribute by clicking this link.

WHY?

The money we raise will provide many of the resources that define our kids’ experiences at MSC this year. We parents direct these funds, which give us a strong hand in our school.

HOW?

How to give is up to you! Make a one-time contribution or set up a recurring monthly payment of any amount. Large or small, every gift counts, just like every one of us.

WHERE?

Ongoing: Candy Wrapper Recycling

Have candy wrappers in October/November? You can recycle them! Shakira signed us up for a candy wrapper recycling program, just in case anyone was planning on letting their kids eat some candy. Find out which day your child has Greenhouse Science, and put EMPTY wrappers in a sealed baggie (that can get recycled, too!)

Program is available until mid November.
