Act Now to Join Our 2022-24 Nominating Committee!
April 1st is the last day to sign up! Please consider joining our MSC nominating committee to help select the incoming Friends of MSC Executive Board! This is an exciting opportunity to get involved with our school's Parent Association and bring forward new members of our community to serve on the board. 2-5 volunteers are needed to lead this year's Nominating Committee. Members of the committee must come from the general membership and may not be current executive board members. As a Nominating Committee member, you will help source talent and interest from our community! Then, you will work within our MSC community to run the election. We need YOU to help run a successful election cycle!
For more information about this committee, click here to read the FOMSC Bylaws. Please let us know if you are interested by April 1. Email: copres@friendsofmsc.org

Calling ALL PERFORMERS to take the stage! Singers, dancers, and musicians, soloists or groups, all welcome.
Do you prefer the production side of the show? Designers! Directors! Stage Technicians!! We want to showcase your talent during this event.

Dear Friends of MSC, We’re well on the way to reaching our Family Giving goals. If you have yet to donate, please give what you can. Even if you’ve contributed already, here are four ways to expand your impact: Remember, we’re partnering with Giving Multiplier to direct funds to our school and some of the world’s most effective charities at the same time. This site adds matching funds to any contribution, an extra 5% when you use this code: PS333.
Your gifts, and these additional steps, keep us connected and learning. Indeed, you are the heart of MSC.

Dear Families,
Don’t miss the opportunity to provide your school with valuable feedback! Complete the NYC School Survey online at NYCSchoolSurvey.org or by logging into your NYC Schools Account today.
The deadline to complete the survey was extended to Friday, April 15!

Inclusiveness and Diversity Committee
|
As announced last week, The Manhattan School for Children Inclusiveness and Diversity Committee (IDC) is launching a new and exciting film project that will explore how a cross section of MSC families/caregivers and community members experienced the pandemic. The goal of the project is to start a dialogue about our diverse experiences during this unique and challenging time in our history and bring us closer together as a community.
The IDC will be filming interested students, families, teachers and staff by the end of the 2021-2022 school year and will hold a screening of the film on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. The screening will include a speaker and a follow-up conversation for MSC community members to share reflections, learnings and come together in care and support for one another.
To kick off the project we would love your assistance in helping us narrow our focus so we can address what’s most important to you. Please take a moment to answer the following questions. This survey is entirely anonymous unless you choose to identify yourself for potential participation in the film. Thank you for your invaluable engagement.
If you have any questions please contact the IDC Film Project Steering Committee at MSCIDCfilmproject@gmail.com.
Please fill out the survey to help us create the best project possible! Your survey participation is invaluable! Thank you!

Teacher Appreciation Week is May 3-6
|
|
To kick off the event and show our AMAZING teachers how SPECIAL they are to us, we are planning to surprise our teachers with colorful signs made by our kids to be hung on the netting where the kids line up in the morning!
Please ask your child to make colorful signs thanking our teachers on letterhead size paper, 8 1/2" x 11" paper.
(If you want, include your child's first name and teacher's name.)
We need parent volunteers from each class to collect the signs no later than April 28 or before.
Volunteers from each class will receive sheet protectors to insert each sign and help hang the signs on the netting in front of their class on Monday, May 2.
When the teachers come to school on May 3, the walk ways will be decorated with all the beautiful signs of appreciation.
