Art with Bernard
The vision of this afterschool program includes making art as a community building activity. Our designs for murals on the 5th floor lobby and for the Greenhouse Corridor have been approved by the DOE Department of Buildings and are currently being painted. We hope to paint murals on all floors of the school! This project will be ongoing over the years.

All classes begin with pickup at outdoor dismissal at 2:45 and go until 4:30pm. Dismissal at 4:30pm will be out the front door.
Mohr's Explorers
Mohr’s Explorers, is an an outdoor adventure program and we have been running this group through your school since 2010, though we have had various groups of kids from MSC as far back as 2006.

Our weekly Central Park EDventures include elements of fort building, back-country survival and wilderness hide-and-seek – plus an original variety of awesome games and activities! This exhilarating outdoor program builds confidence, while encouraging teamwork, creativity and open-ended education.

Hex & Co classes in board games, role-playing games, chess, and trading card games are designed to activate focal brain areas and promote neurodevelopment. Through the process of having fun and interacting, kids practice and learn individual and group problem solving skills, inductive and deductive reasoning, mathematics and probability estimation, abstraction and language expression.

Launch Math + Science Centers provide toddlers to tweens with inspiring math instruction and STEM-based camps and classes.

This Fall, Launch is offering free pick-up on Tuesdays and Fridays from MSC to Launch's location on the UWS (173 W 81st Street, at Amsterdam Ave). Free pick-up on Fridays is contingent on 3 or more student enrollments. To register, please go to www.launchmath.com

A daily after-school program that brings positive mentors and a wide range of enrichment activities to the students at Manhattan School of Children. RTS EXPLORE is Roads to Success's model for youth in grades 6-8 that focuses on Collaboration, passion exploration and career and college readiness.

Creative Stage offers innovative performing arts programming, designed to ignite each child's imagination!

Advanced Seriously Funny Sketch Comedy Workshop, Grades 6-8
What happens when you combine SNL-style sketches, with music great composers ranging from Mozart, to Salt n Pepa? -- Musical Theater Builders! In Musical Theater Builders (AMTB) kids use improv games and exercises to develop comic sketches. Spoof songs are created by adding comic lyrics to famous tunes by great composers and songwriters. On the final day of class, students perform their musical sketch comedy revue masterpiece for friends and family! In this advanced class children will also explore antiphonal singing, as well as singing in parts, and it is designed for kids who have some previous experience.

MONDAY 8th Grade Portfolio Prep Class

This class is designed to help aspiring 8th graders create a portfolio for the specialized art high school auditions. We will focus on skills of perceptual drawing which required for drawing figures, portraits and still-life. Motivated 7th graders are welcome to apply.
